👍How to be a respectful visitor to these places👍
Native American groups still live in this area and beyond today. These places are still special and hold significance.
1️⃣Don't climb on walls or structures. Don't lean on or climb over them. Many places don't even need to be visited up close. View these places from a distance or with binoculars.
2️⃣Do not touch the rock art. Don't touch or create new rock art to preserve ancient stories.
3️⃣ Leave All Artifacts. Leave artifacts and structures undisturbed to maintain their historical significance. It is illegal and wrong to take artifacts. If you want something to take home, support local tribes by buying their handicrafts and jewelry.
4️⃣ Manage Waste Responsibly. Use waste bags; don't leave human or pet waste behind. Don't 'go' near cultural sites.
5️⃣ Camp With Care. Don't camp near historical sites. No fires near these areas, and ensure all waste is packed out. Don't make fires in caves or alcoves. Camp in designated spots only. When you leave, make sure to make the site cleaner and better than when you found it. Pick up extra trash you may see.
6️⃣ Control Your Pets. Don't let pets roam freely near archaeological areas to prevent destruction. Pets are not allowed in or near sites.
7️⃣ Preserve Fragile Areas. Don't disturb fossils and please protect delicate soil and plant life.
8️⃣ Follow Rules. Don't engage in illegal actions such as building cairns, or using climbing gear to access archaeological sites.
9️⃣ Obey Drone Rules and Laws. Numerous locations in the American Southwest and beyond, such as the Navajo Reservation, Wilderness Study Areas, and various restricted spaces, enforce strict drone usage prohibitions. It is crucial to not only honor the legacy of the people who once inhabited these areas but also show respect for the present-day residents and adhere to their local laws, customs and regulations.
---------------
NOTE: I don't claim that I am the first person to "discover" these places. I just find things on Google Earth and want to go see what they are!
I do not claim to be an expert on anthropology, geology, or archaeology. I say that my channel is about "amateur archaeology". I don't have a degree or formal training in archaeology. I am just a hiker who loves to explore and see new things especially the ancient history in the American Southwest. This is what my channel is about. I hope you stick around and explore with me!
I do not give out locations to the places in my videos. I take seriously the responsibility to protect and respect these ancient places. If you do find/visit one of these locations, please visit respectfully. I try my best to hide noticeable landmarks, mountains, and canyons in my videos.

This Alcove Has A 4000 Year Old Secret!
I enjoy the question/answers!!!
I really enjoy the Trek Planer channel. I don’t get to travel that much anymore. I love the exploring and Hiking you do. I love the Native American Art on the rock faces. It tells of their history of long ago.
They worried about enemies
Don’t think those are mine shafts. Where I live we have people who hide and store food in these rabbit holes
Why did you avoid the gliff that looked like a man in a rocket ship and also looked as if it had flakes shooting from an engine below him? It looked as though it had separate compartments one for him and another for the rocket engines.
Hey I am seventy five and an amputee so you are my eyes out there so thank you for what you do
Talk about Hawkeye 😂
Amazing videos, wish i was hiking with you.
Looks like the eagles didn't want company lol!
I'm curious what kind of e-bike you bought and why? Has it worked out for you?
Wow such photo getting, thanks for the history and wildlife encounters
This journey feels almost reverential, in its beauty and such particular attention to detail, like the line of small rock as if a design layered by regular stone and mortar design, it’s striking .❤
Really enjoy your journeys and discoveries. Your planning is worth the effort, always!❤
So should we just leave the artifacts there or what? That was not made clear enough for me.
Make a video,. Get permission, and go by 4X4.. lol..
Awesome shots of the birds!!!
Never leave a good pot behind??
A Golden Eagle would never be mistaken as a hawk...maybe a Turkey Vulture from a long distance and poor lighting. Wish the eagle had destroyed your drone. In the East, morons are always flying them in Nat'l parks where they are specifically prohibited, and flying them near sensitive nesting areas.
I used to poo poo drones as just expensive toys, but I've since changed my ways and believe they can be useful tools.
Thank you for sharing 2 in one the beautiful ruins and the hawks❤.
ONE OF THE COOLEST IVE SEEN OMG
That was way cool man! Good eye for seeing something to investigate. Thankfully the drone lived. If I may ask what drone are you using?
Thisnis probably my favorite video to date. That eagle was amazing.
Awesome!
Great video. I love the lunch in the back of the car. Brings back memories of road trips with my dad. You are a great guy showing the kids' history.
Those weren't Hawks, their far to big , im in the Scotland UK , for you to capture, this is beyond a beautiful blessing from the universe and the most high, Birds are Amazing and I let my brain wonder , letting them tell us , what they see , as the fly 😊 What a beautiful experience and Thank you for sharing. Keep Lifted
Wow what a beautiful scenario, its also great you listened to your intuition. Great message 👍 Now to watch ❤
How did they get there and how do you live on such an abyss
You continue to show us some really interesting things. Golden eagles for sure, wing span is much wider than a hawk.
Thank you again for sharing your adventures.
Good luck with your exploration of our ancients! -Carlos Castaneda
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam Where the deer and the antelope play Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day
Jeff, I have spend virtually years connecting the Navajo and the Navjote of India, and the presence of Buddhist sacred sites of the 4-corners area. Lookup my research at "Ancient Buddha, Lotus Flower, Tree of Life images in Colorado". We are all connected, keep discovering! And my fave? Zorro legend of Conquistador California is true, with Zoroastrians also in the ancient culture-fusion mix! We are all connected.
Why did the leave? Water dried up Food resources dwindled Captured by slaver foes Wiped out be enemies
Those are from aliens from Mars....I've seen them make the spots when eating minerals late in the evening.
Really nice work
Maybe the aliens came and took them home.
Definitely an arrow. The arrow goes sideways as it approaches the drone. . The real question for me is. Whats more expensive ? The drone or the arrow .😅
Could you have a flexible solar panel fixed on your back pack to re charge your batteries? And wear a little umbrella hat to provide shade over your head. I might look silly but in that hot sun I bet it would be welcome.
Another amazing discovery. Loved your imagined rendition of what the structure might have looked like. Do more of this!!?? Glad you didn't lose your drone to the Golden Eagle pair, and that you showed the respect to back it off and away from their territory. Seeing the raptors was amazing in itself!
I'd say an arrow but it literally does a 180° in the air
Thank you for this incredible video. The digital reconstruction is fascinating! Please make more of those 😊
Your editing and recreation has gotten great! Super videos, man! Stay hydrated and watch out for the wildlife! Keep'em coming!
OMG that hawk looked magnificent in attack mode. How many people can say they've even seen that from that angle up in the air. Thank-you so much for sharing! Love your work, Jeff.
So the golden eagle takes the Emmy this week! Visually, anyhow. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed your narrative this week! I am a true fan. I watch every week. I sense your trouble when it comes to inserting a speculation as no archeologist. This time, though you sounded like us in the comments using phrases like “I wonder” and the historical comparisons offered. But….this week my favorite by far was the digital reconstruction ❤❤❤. Nice job, Jeff!
Great footage! This is a very special spot! Thank you for taking us along! 👍👍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😀💕🌸🍀🌺
Great adventure
About two years ago, while flying on the east side of the Black Mountains, near Kingman, Az., my Autel Nano+ drone was attacked by a bird. Because of some trees, I didn't have sight of the drone for a few seconds. It was on an automated return to home, so I wasn't really flying it. I did see some odd movement of the drone on the video feed but figured it was probably some glitch in the gimble and just waited for it to return and land. I checked the drone and found that there was a crack, about an inch long, in the plastic body panel on the top of the drone. Later, I super glued the crack. The drone survived the attack and flew back to me and landed with no problems. The drone has flown many times since then and is still working just fine.
Hey Jeff do you think the same as I do? It looks like whoever built this incredible structure somehow probably by hand chipped and carved away at the softer part of the cliff wall to create more space like a large shelf? I’m not sure what kind of hand tools they must have had to do that with. Mark
Very cool. Besides all the good things others say about you, you’re a pretty good drone pilot as well. I would have been afraid to get my drone that close in. Well done!
